Pretty sure my next watch is going to be a big crown pointer date but 36mm bronze with the green dial. I need something water resistant for the British summertime 🤪

Totally agree. Was only suggesting the Helson Hammerhead as a value option at half the price.

I like the crescent shape of the original pointer date.

Also agree about Oris. Some of their Aquis and Divers range tempt me.

If you were to take it to sea and leave it wet a lot of the time I'm sure it would eventually, but not on its own. It's very early in its journey, and the brass has just dulled slightly. It's a shame, I'd quite like a bit of green patina on it - maybe not quite that much tho.

If you read that thread, the owner of that watch used three or four chemical treatments to get his brass looking like that. Not sure its possible naturally.

I saw a few pieces at the British Museum when they had their history of timepieces exhibition (the final exhibit was a DW5600, which I thoroughly enjoyed) which were in a similar state after being used as marine chronometers for years at a time. But yeah, unlikely to get that cycling to Dulwich. More's the pity.

Seems like a bargain,but I am not very knowledgeable when if comes to watches(or most things truth be told.)
I am kind of tempted(love the dial colour)
