Use the correct bb for the chainset. Mic and match can cause the taper to distort anx then ruin the chainset.

The angle of the taper is the same, it’s the length that differs, ISO tapers ~~being longer and therefor tapering to a smaller dimension at the end.~~ having an additional 1mm x 45deg taper at the end of the 2deg fitment taper.

The only way damage would occur would be if you put a crank arm designed for a jis taper into an iso spindle and the crank bolt were to bottom out on the spindle before properly securing the arm.
