  • Just chiming in on the fakes vs real... The car dealer that I just purchased my new car from had a fake omega Speedmaster on. I had my real one on. I didn't say anything, he was young and trying to make an impression or fit in with his older colleagues. It actually made me want to buy from him. If the fake gave him confidence, then so be it. It looked good! I think the people that worry about fakes are the ones that worry what other people might think.

    I am conveniently ignoring the moral issue of ripping off the genuine item though.

    My particular watch journey was a bunch of cheap Seiko watches until my wife bought me my Speedy. I wear it nearly everyday and love it. Not sure a fake would feel the same. But as a fashion item I don't mind . End ramble ...

    Edit: does that make me sound smug? Murkey area, maybe fakes are best avoided.
