• What are you planning to use it for mainly?

So it turns out the Surly is my new favourite commuting bike.

It's so much fun being able to hop up and down kerbs and doing childish skids everywhere.

I've got the seat down a bit from where it really should be, only 2 or 3 inches but it's the best thing, totally stops me trying to smash it up to high speed.

Still need to change out the front wheel so I'm not hauling the unused dynamo around with me. I have a snowflake wheel that needs the spokes either trimming a little or undoing and twisting another turn.

  • It’s making me want to pivot on my current build. It’s an on one 456 that’s going to be 1x9(or 10), but now I’m wondering how much fun rigid forks and no gears would be.

And lots and lots and lots.

  • Me too. I got a sus fork for mine cos @platypus kept throwing encouraging mtb words my way but that og on-one segmented fork and apocalypse build a la @M_V (looks great btw) is feeling so appealing now
