Did they say whether the welding was to the seatbelt mounting or to the shell/chassis near to where the seatbelts mount? I guess the car is 13 years old but I'm surprised that it would need significant welding to pass an MOT

Mk5 golf drive well and decrnt inside, but they be rusty. Average mk4 will prob outlast a similarly maintained mk5

not sure if I should still go for it. I okayed the garage to do it for around £50-150 when they rang me yesterday, but the signed piece of paper says I'd have an MOT'd golf for £900, not £1030
