Nice, any idea on Max tyre size?

Not sure. I have a 25c I can try tomorrow and a pic with the clearance.

Hi Jono84
Attached are photos of the fork with 23c (treaded tyre) and 25c (smooth tread) tyres. The 25c is a tubular and I think it does come up a bit smaller than a 25c clincher. A 25c would definitely fit and you may just squeeze a 28c in but I think it would be very tight and also depend on the caliper to be used.

Hi, thanks for the pics, looks like it'll be too tight for my 28's unfortunately. I'm sure someone will snap this up, GLWS

LBS let me try a 28c tyre and I can confirm it is too tight with short drop caliper so 25c is max tyre it will take

Are the time stickers on the fork under the lacquer? Thanks

I believe so but I will check tomorrow and let you know

Hi
Stickers are definitely under the lacquer coat. Is this important?

The red of logo won't match the rest of the bike, sad, I know!

Accent colour or spray the bike😁

PM sent, these would match perfectly on my Time VX (same colour scheme and era), the present forks have a limited threaded section for the Time 'quick set' headset (shitty design). With these I could mount a normal headset.

Don't think these will work with Time frame with Quickset forks. I bought a Time VXS frame only in haste a few years ago and my LBS confirmed I couldn't fit standard threadless forks on it, even Time ones. If you know otherwise I'd be pleased to hear about it as frame had been sitting in my garage for years now and I can't bring myself to chuck it out!

Daithim, I have checked and i can fit a regular headset in the top of the frame, bearings etc (to take the regular compression force of non quick-set headset). I will need to make a spacer approximately 43mm internal diameter to fill the gap at the top of the frame (cosmetic, no load on it & for debris protection) and (the most invasive action) grind the threaded metallic sleeve down on the forks (so that it does not interfere with the new headset) this action does not effect/ touch the structural integrity of said forks. Ill keep you updated on how it goes and can share photos). With some crafty engineering I reckon it'll be good, but i can understand why a LBS wouldn't want anything to do with such actions.

PS: do you have the quickset forks?

Seskin_hill I'm still searching for Quickset forks and found this old thread which I contributed too as DaithiM. No I don't have the forks but recently saw some Stiff+ forks again on eBay. How have you got on with fitting regular forks to your Time frame? Could you share photos if it worked?
Time Millenium Stiff + carbon fork with 1 1/8th carbon steerer. Very light stiff forks in VGUC-some small spots where lacquer coat has chipped. Steerer length 254mm, 100mm spacing. Has a bung already fitted with hex bolt. Was a high end fork in 2006/7 from what I can find on the internet. Had it a while thinking to use it in a build but I need the space and funds for another project.- £52.00 inc of paypal +postage (RM 2nd class recorded) or collection from High Wycombe.
