  • He won’t be, he’s far too nice to do that. Plus now he’s got to keep Bernal in check on his own.

  • Been quite a shitty year for Ineos so far with crashes.

  • I guess Froome will be a regular at the frackture clinic.

  • I feel for him. Everyone hates him but it would have been cool to see him try for 5

  • Wout Van Aert smashes Dumoulin’s time by 45 seconds.

  • Everyone hates him, my arse. Shitty news. Second time he's crashed in a TT recce.
    Allez Porte!

  • Been quite a shitty year for Ineos so far with crashes.

Probably been upping the tramadol dosage again

  • Tejay’s back.

    #believe

  • Er, I just came to this thread for a video clip of the Froome crash. Not very mature of me I know.

  • It was during his pre-ride of the course so I doubt there is footage of it.

  • That’s very good.

  • Sounds like Froome is lucky not to be more seriously hurt. Which is saying something considering his injuries!

  • Supposedly he had no hands on the bars because he was picking his nose, a wind gust caught his wheel and he drove into a wall at full speed. 😦

  • No doubt, from the sounds of things it was hardly a miner injury

  • Interesting to see if he can be competitive when he comes back. Cadel was the oldest Tour winner at 35, which Froome would have to match.

  • Bad news for froome. Hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

But with him out does that leave the tour pretty open? Is there any obvious favourite?

  • Last year’s winner wouldn’t be a bad bet.

It partially solves the leadership issue for Sky in that they now only have two riders to keep happy.

Sky have by far the strongest team but it’s a cruel sport and it doesn’t take much to derail plans.

I hope they don’t win it again. I think it would do the race good to have a French winner.

  • I think it would do the race good to have a French winner.

So do I. But who? Bardet doesn't quite have it, nor does Pinot and Barguill appears to have retired.

  • Bardet has been the closest but he hasn't managed to push on in the last couple of years. I like him as a rider, it's a shame he hasn't quite got it to win.

    I hope I'm wrong!

  • Movistar may be able to match them on the team front. Lotto Jumbo could be close too. They could field Kruisjwijk, Bennett, De Plus, Van Aert, Gesink.

    Nom nom nom Le Tour.

  • Last year’s winner wouldn’t be a bad bet.

Not a chance this year, won’t even sniff the podium.

  • Watched Bardet’s time trial today and it’s still a huge weakness.

I can’t see any of them doing better than the podium in reality.

  • We’ll get an idea at Tour de Suisse but it’s mad to rule out a former winner.

  • Cadel was the oldest Tour winner at 35

What? I'll never believe that without some kind of photographic confirmation.

  • That thing with Froome sounds pretty bad. Hope it's not career-ending. I didn't realise he was in IC.

He lost control in high winds when he attempted to blow his nose while cycling at 37mph.
