Wish I had a parts bin like that, turned out lovely!

Just taken my Straggler for a fun wazz around the woods and decided it could do with a clutch mech. I’m assuming there’s a thread that would tell me if/how to make one work with my 105 5700 levers, but I can’t find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

You'd need a WolfTooth/Lindarets Tanpan, or something like that. Try just increasing the cage tension first

Why is it unusual for nervex lugs to be on a frame with a braze on for a fd?

Yep the lugs seem to be from the 70's and the braze on from the 90's

New roadie day yesterday, very happy with it!

Please excuse the homemade band on shim, will be fixed this week.

Can't wait to put some miles in!!

I was so close to picking one of these up 5 years ago. Still tempted now. How you finding it?

Wheels given a proper clean including a bit of tyre conditioner.

Front and rear bearings replaced.

A black set and a green set of grips ordered from AliExpress to see what works best. Almost went for a nice set of lizard skin ones, but it just seemed a bit much for such a cheap bike.

Now on the look out for a 25mm x 15mm bit of black vinyl to recover the saddle.

Anyone got a suggestion of where to go? The few eBay sellers I've messaged only do by the meter.

That looks so good!
If you run the shifter in friction mode, I suggest you move it to the underside of the bar, like this - it would look much neater and work very well imo.
