  • forgot how much I love these cameras. Feels so good

I shot medium format SLRs for a very long time before somebody gave me their Rolleicord, and I really like it as well.
Especially the fact it's lighter, and quiter. Also people love it ("wow, how old is that?" etc.)
    : ]
They are slower though, the matte screen is dim and prone to glare (and upgrading that costs as much as the whole camera basically) so I do need more time to focus, and the handling is a bit fiddly still, maybe it's me though, being used to Mamiya SLR so much..

  • get anything, you'll probably dump it for something else in time.

I'd rather do a bit more figuring out what suits my needs and budget before going for one medium format system or the other.
I know some people do buy and sell and switch camera systems a lot, but I haven't seen it getting them anywhere, besides it wastes a lot of time and often money as well.
Just check the options and figure out what you wanna do, it's a bit like buying a bike.

  • The original ground glass was dim and difficult to focus on mine, so a decade and a half ago it got a new screen. It was someone on a camera forum who used to cut down (Mamiya?) fresnel focus screens to fit. I did that and it helped, especially having a split in the middle. Much much brighter, though the fresnel increased glare, so I got used to using the magnifier. Not ideal by any means, but serviceable.

    ........... n+1

  • The 6x6 SQ-b is a pretty nice camera with not much to go wrong. Bronica cameras with electronics had a bad rep back in the day.

Daily reminder though ... Rolleicord/Yashica etc TLRs are way more fun and usable than they appear. Other than hipster-bookend value they aren’t too hyped, so can be picked up cheap.

  • Any interest in an immaculate Sony Rx100 IV with official Sony Case, Box, Charger, Battery and SD card?

  • I could be interested! Feel free to send me a PM with some details if you'd like

  • I'll drop you some pics and details

  • For the benefit of anyone else here are the pics I sent @ACRe19.

Having looked at prices on eBay, good condition Mark IV seem to go for about £400. Given this comes with the Sony case which costs about £60 I reckon £375 is a pretty good deal. That's cheaper than I can see anywhere and less than I'd get for it on ebay etc.

It's absolutely immaculate not a mark on it, everything works etc. Great little camera with the great bonus of fitting in a Jersey pocket.

  • I’d say you’re pretty close, if someone really wanted a whole kit. Not sure anyone would buy all in at once though. Shame I can’t help you out at the moment - a couple of those lenses were on my wish list.

  • Thanks. I guess I'll have to work out how to split it.

  • Selling some lights and a mic btw -

    Going towards the Q2 fund...

  • Similarly, I may be interested in some bits if you split.

  • I'll split. Which bits are you interested in?

  • Possibly the 55-210 lens. Although I'm not 100% I actually need it.

  • Cheapest I can see on evilBay is £135+ postage. How does £100 collected in SW London sound?

  • Cheers, I'll have to have a think about it (the whole point of me getting the Sony was as a compact alternative to my DSLR ...).

  • I’m away until 27th, but I was keen on the Sony 20/2.8 depending on price, if you fancy sending me a pm.

  • Colour me very interested in the 55-210 lense if aggi pull out. Also the waterproof case, depending on price?

  • It's a Neewer case and I paid for it just over £100. Since I never used it £70 seems like a fair price.

  • Although tempted if you want it I'm happy to pass (and save some money).

  • Worked out how to split it. I'm open to offers, all prices are negotiable. Viewing and testing is more than welcome. I'm based in Tooting.

    Feiyu FY-ALPHA1000 Camera Gimbal - £140
    Neewer Waterproof Case for a6000 - £70

    Sony E mount 55-210 lens - £100
    Sony E mount 20 2.8 pancake lens - £140
Sony ECU2 ultra wide adapter for the pancake lens - £80
Sony ECF2 fish eye adapter for the pancake lens - £80
    Sony E mount 50 1.8 portrait lens - £150
