Also any recommendations on 650B wheelset? Was going to go hunt as my 700c hunts have lasted and lasted

I was waiting for a while and finally collected them the Friday before last.
The wait, for both original order and subsequent fork replacement, was agonising but I’m happy with the result!

I have been very happy with Wtb i23s laced to hope pro 4s on mine if you are up for getting something built.
If you are interested in second hand let me know. Mine will be for sale soon. With Wtb Horizon tires...

I'd also be interested in those

I sure would be, when it comes to it give me a shout. Sounds like a good build.

Mavic allroad maybe?

Thanks for the recommendation @edscoble
Might go with these though, https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Specialized-Roval-Traverse-Fattie-650B-Wheelset_89024.htm
29mm internal width. Will just need to buy some 12mm axle adapters -

29mm internal? For a gravel bike???

Fatgravel

Or "rock gardens", as everyone else already knows them.

• #8288
You realised this is basically for mountain bike right?

24/28 DT revolution spokes? Isn't that a bit too little for a gravel wheel?
-
• #8290
I would say yes. I use them for gravel/cross but in a 32/32 setup. They’ve been flawless, but I’m also only 72 kg. I also ran them 20/24 on a road build, and they were to flimsy

I have some 30mm internal halo SAS rims. Combined with larger than 2" tyres and around two bars of pressure it rides like a dream!

larger than 2" tyres

£300 gravel frameset but it weighs 2.4kg in 53cm apparently
-
• #8295
56.5cm ETT for a size 50, are they mad?
-
• #8296
Yep, hence having to add 12mm adapters, just figured wider rims make sense on, well any wheel, gravel or not. Weight penalty obviously the downside to wider rims
-
• #8297
Theres loads of bikes with the gravel label on them advertised with 27.5 x 2.1" thunderburts for example.
Go to central usa, and "gravel biking" is all of a sudden 4" tires on 80mm rims lol
-
• #8298
Thunderburts. Ugh.
Got a pair a few weeks ago. Roll really nicely. Only needed 15+ anchovies in the 500 miles I've ridden them.

Or it's 32mm file treads, a la Dirty Kanza. Very confused genre.

You’re restricted to MTB tyres, putting “gravel” tyres isn’t a good ideas as the sidewall will be more exposed to the ground, as gravel tyres as usually designed for wide road rims, even MTB rims are only slightly wider than road.
Di2 and hydro ftw
