What a lovely frame. Is that a Sansom fork crown at the front? Do you know what the blades are (sorry if this was mentioned before)?
-
• #353
Many thanks, appreciated. Yes Samson aero fork crown and Kaisei Evolution fork blades. All the details of the tubing etc are on penguinspring’s (original owner) Pedalroom page. Cheers! T

Nice, where did you find the sliver DDs ?
-
• #356
Cheers. Velodromeshop. They have nice parts but their service/postage is recurrently woeful. Expect two weeks before you receive the order, happens every time. T

• #357
Woow really I’ve always avoided them due to their rep on here I’d like to get my IF on a pair of sliver DDs so I might have to give them a try.
-
• #358
So I’ve ordered from them twice and every time it took just over two weeks. The package isn’t traceable and they will only investigate after exactly two weeks. It always arrives on the 15th day.. if you go with them make sure to order well in advance ;)!

That Bishop frame is a work of art.
-
• #360
Wow that frameset is stunning

Cheers folks, it really is gorgeous in person. The details, tubing and quality are second to none. I fear it may be a bit small though if anyone feels the need for a Bishop ;)

Few bits done to the Bishop..
Sanded off the paint from the rear dropout plates. Was driving me crazy as it was slipping and also looked crap. Now they're all smooth and shiny :)
New (for the bike) black DA chainring I bought a while back from Yamaguchi. Ti chainring bolts. Think it looks a tonne better and I couldn't part with it due to the history!
New PW rear sprocket.
Debating a WoundUp track fork. Thoughts on that? Approx 100g lighter too ;)
Will be sorting out a mega light front wheel this year and a few nice bits from the USA when I visit.
It's a f**king awesome bike to ride and I think I've figured out the fit at last!In other news the Holdsworth is under construct with SRAM Red. The V1 has had a drivechain clean up. The 3Rensho roadie has a new gruppo being collection.. The CDale Track has a high chance of being put back into complete original catalogue spec..
I have a Charge Griffin, Charge Scissor, Knight track and two Roberts frames for sale. Plus moar in lockup.. Someone save me from all this stuff!!
Oh and the Kalavinka has to go :(

Sunday spent overhauling this one for my bro.
New BB. Took bloody ages and tonnes of tries to find the appropriate chainline. Turns out 116mm is the magic number.
All new cables (compressionless), pads, rotors, bearings, freewheel, chain, chainring, all Ti bolts, cockpit, tyres etc. Internally framesaved.
Just needs a bit of tweaking and some LizardSkins bartape. Runs as beautiful as when new.

Sugino 75 road group set complete. Now just comes the issue of a Sugino headset, what wheels to go for and also bars stem seatpost. That on top of another three projects. At least....😑

What's the idea behind going back to stock on the C-track? A collectors project?
-
• #366
Hey. Yeah pretty much. It's in such mint condition that I thought it'd be a nice project to do. Plus Cdales in original condition are getting much harder to find these days. Plus I need something new to do ;)

My first ever road bike I've built by myself from scratch. Even managed to sort out the gears which I'm kinda proud of ;) No doubt will undergo quite a few changes and will see how the stem length works out and if my back takes it. Currently awaiting new brake blocks as the ones on it are carbon specific and suck in the wet!

Never mind the bikes, DC2 pics plz!

• #369
I think that's a great idea, ironically a stock C-track will be much more unique than all the customs out there. I have a mint Capo and CAAD 9 and considered the same but after reviewing the original build kit i definitely won't be going that route!

You got the sugino 75 carbon seatpost too?
Upload some photos then... :-) -
• #371
Cheers, think it's an interesting project and the original parts were all pretty decent track gear so it'd also be rideable. Needing a 1992 Ti Flite, 32h Suntour Superbe hubs, Sun 17a rims. The last is posing a nightmare!
@BigH Oh I wish I got seatpost. Never even seen one for sale but it'll come up at some point ;) Just waiting for the rear derailleur to come through and I'll unpack all the bits and take a pic. I have no idea re BB though, may be a trial and error process..

Oof, that does look painful. What happened?
-

Thankfully everyone was ok. Slippy road, no sleep from on-call and person braking suddenly. Apparently all repairable but they have to let me know it's tracking straight (which I think it is) before I give the fixing the go-ahead. Last thing I need in my life but sh*t happens!

Ah jeez man, no way. As long as you and all are alright, that's all that matters at the end of the day.
It's a DC, it'll be more than fine, and even if it ain't, your options are endless with it. Then you can get to defogging those headlights and painting that rocker.
Slowly coming together, new crank day today. Still needs bar tape once I’m happy with the cockpit setup and debating some carbonz upfront such as Zipp 202 or possible an Extralite hub on a DCR carbon rim..
Rides proper fast :)!
