    Would they have won in this strongly Leave area if they had taken a stronger line on Brexit? Or is this a sign that Corbyn's policy of accepting Brexit is not the only political issue might not be completely ridiculous?

  • They won partly because the Brexit Party stood, and split the Tory vote.

    The enemy of my enemy etc.

    I would assume a good number of Labour voters in a area that voted 61% leave also voted leave.
