If you can wait a week or two, I should have an old Raleigh Equipe frame coming up. 62 x 58 ctc. Will include headset, stem, bar, brakes and seatpost. Nothings special as far as the steel goes, but plain tubing can sometimes be a positive on a bigger frame for tall/large riders. Definitely will fit the "budget" criterion.

I have this mystery late 70's French road frameset with vitus 172 tubing and nice chrome ends. Off the top of my head it's 58-59cm CTC with 126 rear spacing. Bars, stem, seatpost, BB (fairly new), headset and defunct crankset (chain rings are sheared from the crank arm - so will need removing and binning) included. I probably have a 700c front wheel I can throw in too. Import FYI: being 70's French it's French threaded. £75 pick up from Hackney
It now longer has the decals and is slightly scruffier from use (until the crank died).

Tempting...
Not too sure about the implications of French thread- how hard is it to find parts? -

This is an XL, broadly 58-60cm. Would split if you are interested in the frame https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/334141/#comment14760863

Velo Orange do French threaded headsets and bottom bracket (not that you'd need them as the ones fitted seem fine) . The trickier thing to source are stems as these are 22mm rather than the standard 22.2mm. Sheldon Brown suggests that it's not a problem to sand the extra 0.2mm off a standard stem.
More information here:
https://www.sheldonbrown.com/velos.htmlThe plus with these era of French frames is they're designed for 700c wheels rather than 27"
Let me know if want any more info or pictures
Hi there!
I'm looking for a relatively cheap frameset or semi-build for my first SS/ FG project.
Preferably track dropouts, but may consider road conversion if not...
I'm between 6'1" and 6'2", so any size around 60cm should work.
Let me know what's around!
Cheers,
Louis
