It's not really established in any way, but I think that's one of the things why Samuli is doing it to try to get it established as a thing for ultra distance cyclists aspire to.

There is a Iditarod veteran Toni Lund who did the same in similar manner unsupported few years back in bit over 5 days so that is the record to beat at the moment.

Wow, I'd want more than that for 300km
14 choc bars and a packet of something
Assume 250 cal per bar x 14 = 3500 cals, call it 4000 with the bag.
300 km will be, what, 12-14 hours? Actually it's not too bad, about 400 cals per hour.
It would take me a couple of hours longer than him so would need more food, to pass the time

Inov8s are pretty flat, depending on which model you choose, all details on their website

Samuli finished last night 1:03am.

It's possible that he took only one half an hour nap all the way, but I'm sure he will comment himself something after some well deserved rest.

Longest ride across Belgium would be under 200 miles.

Sounds more like the territory of a 12h-TTer than an endurance rider.

(Note I've no idea whether Kristof was a TTer at some point...)

^ Reminds me of TG's HAMR riding (~240miles/day for nigh on 3 years). He was able to push out a 240mile ride every day with an HR_avg around just 100bpm.

We just had a few mandatory checkpoints, the rest of the route is my own. I have no idea if it's nice because most of it was during the night. :)

Kristof just rides his bike. Then one day someone organised a long race that went near his house, so he entered it and won it a few times. That's pretty much all the racing he has done.
