Enjoy!

Yeah but discontinued. If you see a 11.5 or 12 not in the white let me know!
They're a little bit warm, but hard wearing and very grippy. My go to shoes now.My other Salomans are 7 years old, well worn but never broke. Really rate their shoes.

Go Sam. Pictures and race report when you're done please!

35mm, 2.4 or even 2.6 tyres.
I run Maxxis XO TR casings, more money, but have yet to tear/flat one and I mostly ride very very flinty trails around here.

yeah getting 2.4 wtb ranger
and getting a wider dt swiss rimout there learning the lessons!
Also didn't carry spare tubles value core! duh -

OK.
I just went into Sports Direct as I was passing and got some Karrimor trail running shoes. Pretty cheap so nothing to lose and will try them out.
A lot of people used trail running shoes, esp Salomon, on the SRMR last year.Need something else as discovered on Saturday that the lightweight 5-10s I was wearing are a bit too small, had to ride the last 160km with no socks to keep hot foot at bay

I'm considering trying some Arc'teryx Arakys or La Sportiva TX2 to replace my beloved Evolv Cruzers for flatpedalcycletouring - they just don't drain and dry quick enough, and I don't fancy GTX

Donncha isn't really sure people are interested in the world by bike challenge. Show him some love :) https://capperman1.blogspot.com/2019/06/world-bike-challenge-june-2020.html

My worry with Donncha is always that he will get really fit, go off too fast and wreck himself.
I can see one possible point of failure:
"My friend and fellow ultra cyclist Ryan Flinn from Curve cycling and Jordan Addison from Giro Cycles in Esher, UK are building a suitable bike for me" - bike built by one guy in Melbourne and another in Surrey...230-40 miles per day is 370-85 km - big ask

Just came here to post that.
I hope his plans come together and he gets to ride. Forgetting the record for a second it's an epic undertaking and would be amazing!

Juliana is organising an 800km in Southern Italy in November. Hilly, and not loads of daylight.
Interesting.
Only on facebook so far

Lack of daylight is an issue in November and with a midday start. Most people would then ride through the first night. Would be a shame to miss most of the scenery!
Good to have more things at that end of the year though when likely to be warmer than May -
• #3220
I should have said in the grey, both other colours are horrible

Samuli is going well. A little short of two days on the road (1d 23h 16m) and covered 1150km of distance. Less than 300km to go so should be finished this evening.

• #3222
Is there an established record for his trip, I wonder?
-
• #3223
I think he said he was just doing it as an unofficial challenge

Damn! I thought I'd hit the jackpot.
I thought about buying a pair but they are only available in my size via store collection from somewhere in the midlands so not going to happen.
My cheap Sports Direct trail runners were a bit of a revelation on a 45 min x 2 commute yesterday. Very comfortable and with a stiffer sole than the 5-10s. Grip was no problem. I actually preferred them to the 5-10s. The problem with them, though, is that they have slightly chunky heels so I would need to put my saddle up a bit for them. So I'll look for something else with zero or close to zero heel drop.
The Acros look like they would tick that box - although not ideal for Balkans if you say they run a bit warm.
@platypus - what are the Innov8s like for heel drop? I want flat as possible.

I know, but that wasn't what I was asking.
Still seem to be available
