Ways not to lock your bike

Was kinda surprised to see this especially considering they've already had two of these bikes stolen.

Where is our thread on the ethics of bike rescue? There's a lovely frame that has been hanging from its lock at one of my workplaces for over 3 months (before I started) and I would love to save it...All the bits are scavenged already, and all is seized up.

Maybe the owner lost the key and knows how to use a spoke key.....

Tbf you'd have to remove the stem and I doubt anyone would put that much work into stealing a shitty Viking mixte

nah can't you just remove the handle bars from the stem with an allen key, quickly slide the dlock over the remaining stem and fix the handles back on?

this thread is so depressing because my bike with two "gold rated" d-locks on got fucked with the other day. And I assume most of these make it safely back to the owners! It was already a piece of shit and now it's worse!

Multi-lug alloys on a piece of shit like that. Inexcusable.
