Same problem as the fluted bezel. It works if you're an old man. But I kind of like the jubilee.
I find it strange how tastes change.

There is a whiff of "members' bar at the golf club" about it.
I'll probably end up with an Oyster Perpetual but there's a lot to like about these new 36mm DJs.

Oof. That size tho. Bang on.

I think the fluted bezel works on smaller sizes, on vintage watches and if you’re 50+
I think for everything else smooth bezel

That black faced dial looks spot on 👌

It is for me, I think. The 34 and 36 oyster case watches are the best proportioned, 34 feels a fraction small on my wrist but then I wear divers most of the time.
@Tenderloin they’ve taken it back to basics, no funny business. Think they’ve nailed it. The black is a very subtle sunray, looks great. If they hadn’t persisted with the tacky polished centre links on the oyster bracelet I’d be all over it instead of an OP.

You remind me of a girl I used to know that fully believed that when a man turned thirty, he had to stop wearing t-shirts and start wearing collars.
It's not about age, it's about being able to pull it off.

I have worn this every day for the last three weeks...
Only lost 10 seconds in that time.
Love it.

Ha! Thats silly.
I just suggested situations where for me fluted works better than smooth - :)

This is the first automatic watch that I bought. Naively I thought that getting one where I didn't have to change the battery would save me loads of money.
On the date wheel this alternates between days of the week and Roman numerals.

New one for me, ‘78 Seiko 7546-6040, a pretty mint example of the exact watch my dad wore until I went to Uni.
I nicked the bracelet off his knackered one, they’re a bit hard to find.

really like these, nearly bought one off eBay this week from Brazil for £160 plus postage - do you mind saying how much you paid?

I paid £200 but it had quite a few hard-to-find positives, NOS crystal, Mint dial, VGC bezel insert and an unpolished case.
The fella who sourced the bits and put it together made this thread https://www.thewatchsite.com/21-japanese-watch-discussion-forum/270457-seiko-7546-6040-sports-100-looking-better.html#/topics/270457

This!
I demand a recount!
I’m trying to figure out if the smooth bezel with the jubilee bracelet would work as a daily wearer. Feel it still might attract a bit too much attention for my liking. Everything else about it is pretty bang on though, size, dial, comfort, etc.
