    Was wondering about that actually. So they don't fall under the same category as ebikes, where it's legal as long as they're limited to 15mph and can be propelled by the person (ie by pushing)?

    Edit - just read up on it. Seems a bit arbitrary that they're illegal just because of their classification as a 'Personal Light Electric Vehicle'.

  • Cheers, it's a shame IMO. Anything that reduces emissions causing traffic is positive for me, and requiring insurance/registration/MOT/whatever for these things to make them road legal seems like overkill.

    I don't own or want one, but seems like a step in the right direction for people that can't/won't cycle.

  • My brother has one and uses it to ride a shared path (disused railway) to work and back. The article says they can only be used on private land: is he risking a fine?
