I'm not as quick to say I agree with you when I don't?

You're the expert, it's worth £2000 at least, you'll have no problem selling it as long as you keep repeating it's worth that much until all the people who don't agree with you change their minds.

That theory and behaviour in the market is only applicable when there is a reduction in the frame, sales on frame sets never outnumber complete. So when mid season comes around, not only doe the manufacturer want to move more frames to the distributor to push to the end user. If demand is there the customer doesn't find his discounts. The manufacturers forecast will determine the market fluctuations, and for arguments sake this is only applicable to current season, the rest falls I to the realms of retail warfare, however nitty gritty it gets but they usually respect the threshold of discounts amongst themselves.

No, I simply challenged you to prove it. You certainly have the ego, all you need now is the balls.

No shop with any sense would build a custom bike for the shop floor unless it's been fully paid for or at least a 60% deposit by a customer who's going to come along and collect it at some point because despite what you think, yes parts that have been fitted are much harder to shift. Especially hydraulic stuff that requires cutting and re-bleeding.
OTP completes can be discounted as low as 40% a year or two out of season, this is simply what the market demands (yes it's an issue but that's for a different time) and more times than you think a physical store is probably trying harder to get a bike out the door than make money on it.
£600 hybrids keep shops afloat and 5 grand posh bikes keep people through the doors. Also a pretty major point, these callipers had a huge recall, any way you can prove yours are not part of that batch? Since you not being a retailer and not offering any warranty or aftercare, or even any real proof of purchase. I doubt SRAM tech would give a shit if whoever bought these sent them an email.

If you let me have a test ride, will it still be NOS afterwards?

your basically saying a frame that costs 3 grand is 3 grand when its alone and with 3 grands worth of components, its 4 grand
That's almost exactly how it works.
Random pick
Canyon Aeroad CF SLX @ £3900
https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/women-bikes/road-bikes/race-bikes/aeroad/aeroad-wmn-cf-slx-8.0-di2/2121.htmlBuying the parts separately at RRP
Frameset @ £2450
Ultegra Di2 @ £1700
DT Swiss ARC 1400 48mm @ £1675
Ergon SR1 @ £50?
Canyon Seatpost @ ~£150?
Canyon Cockpit @ ~£300?
GP5000S @ £100Add the lot up and you've got components 'worth' £6425. Call it an even £6500 as I didn't bother with some of the finishing kit.
So yes. A £2.5k frame with £4k of parts. Knock 40% off and you're bang on the asking price

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

I took some intellects feedback and repriced the bike at £1300, price was broken down, you didn't like it, mouthed off on the thread, you couldn't contain yourself with the opportunity or feeling of safety to throw in a few snide remarks and if you haven't got the balls to accept the forum donation challenge then I'm happy to meet and solve our differences, I'll even bring the cannondale so you can understand its power that the extra 200 quids worth.... oops I "massively overpriced bike"

Canyon is manufacturer and retailer.

• #112
Prove what? You've made a thread asking for people to value your bike, then told them all they're wrong when it's not what you want to hear, I have no need to prove to you what your bike is or isn't worth, I'm not trying to sell it.

Are you now asking for fisticuffs? I think I've been relatively nice tbh, most have.

Canyon is manufacturer and retailer
So 40 minutes ago the invisible hand was all powerful, then 10 minutes ago there was a cosy cartel, and now all bets are off thanks to the disruption of direct to consumer marketing? We live in interesting times.

Do you think the company is taking the hit on the frame they manufactured or the groupset and a women's frame I don't think was random. Currently full group is 1300 excluding wheels..

The Aeroad frameset is overpriced at RRP.
The only reason you'd buy it is if you really really wanted an Aeroad but didn't want one of the off the peg builds. Then you'd pay through the nose for it. But you do that because YOU really really want that combination. If you buy the frames, hang some expensive parts off it then you need to hope that someone else has the exact same urge and is willing to pay just as much over the odds for your pet project as you did.Another example, unfortunately.
My Condor Tempo
Frameset £800. Wheelset £500. Campag BB & cranks, disc fork, hydraulic disc brakes. Blah blah, more bits.
It's probably somewhere near £2k of stuff at list. Maybe I'd swap it for the SystemSix... -
• #117
Theres no 4k of parts, the major retailers have the price point of complete groupo at 1300.... it's a big crack in the theory your trying to deliver, I'm almost sure with your pricing on the frames, cock pits and posts are included... link here that kinda contradicts your theory.

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
the real question here is why has this not been made into a forum tshirt yet?
-
• #123
You might be confusing me with one of the many other voices disagreeing with you, but all I've really said is that you'll be better off splitting it and pretending it was never built up if you want your money back on stuff, don't remember putting forward a pricing theory and my chest is puffed out to look sexy for everyone else on the thread.
Exactly so if they sell them at 40% off it's almost a loss, generally there would be 35-40% markup outside of VAT.
