Rubber washers inside and outside the dropouts, not tightened and the brakes are just slid in not tightened either. I put the chain protective film on the 3 points where I tie wrapped as I didn't trust sticking the hydraulic cable guides to the frame as I didn't want any mark, the frame came with the control tech bars so they were already there. Seat post was actually mounted on another frame but I thought the Thomson was nicer. There was no paint on the face on BB area so mounting the BB hasn't affected it. Maybe lithium grease in the threads but I'm sure that's not a deal breaker for NOS.

Strip it all apart again, pretend you didn't show anyone what you've done and sell the parts as almost new.
-
• #31
Yeah true. You like it though?
-
• #32
Couldn't be arsed splitting it.. lol

Legend, I have enjoyed the banter on the thread...

Hydraulic cable guides provided, hopefully they were designed to enduce frame compatibility. Does that count?

1500? Joke right
-
• #37
Just curious; why did you build it and why don't you ride it?
-

£1500 sounds like a lot. The hydraulic rim brakes are quite cool IMO, but it's a 12 year-old frame that looks a bit dated (as opposed to a classic). Good wheels, but why silver when nothing else on the bike is?
And as it has been mentioned, it's great that everything is new, but you do not offer warranty or after-sales cares, so you can't ask for shop prices. And once parts are fitted, or frames build they are not NOS anymore, it might be a bit silly but that's how it is. -

It's like saying I bought a new TV, never turned it on, mounted the TV stand and now its second hand....
Yep, that would indeed be second hand :-)
"(of goods) having had a previous owner; not new."
Although I suppose you could charge a few hundred quid for fitting the TV stand...

But you could be bothered to build it up.. lol
-
• #41
Then it wouldn't be a unique build anymore 😂
-
• #42
This went for 1100
-
• #43
I give it another page before a flounce.
-
• #44
This is the only solution.
Nobody's paying £1500 for this.

I had exposure and the pleasure of working in an east London distribution company, and 2 notorious east London vintage shops and just be happy that I'm being honest as I've seen alot worse being called NOS, I offer full clarity for you to decide what is and what's not. I'm not hiding anything, and I know its struggling to be a classic but it's still a cool frame, all the oversized tubing, mix of carbon and aluminium. I just loved it.

I just don't think this is a thing where NOS matters that much. These frames are usually about £3-350 in the black/silver colourway, regardless of condition. I don't know if the market is there for a NOS one in the same way it would be for a 'nag or something. As someone said, eBay will tell you if you've priced it right.

The silver wheels are beautiful, I think black rims with silver brake tracks are horrible, they look shabby, no offence to other forum taste, I simple wanted a rim that the contrast of the brake track and rim were close and I know the guy in velocity so he said he would do it for me. Everyone likes when someone does something custom.
-
• #48
True, but you might get some money back for the parts you can probably no longer return.
-
• #49
"Regardless of the condition" 🤔

I liked that build. In my opinion looking and spec better then the one you sell....
Plus I'm not sure if he got full asking price there either...
Cool, thanks, can I transfer the thread or just start a new one.
Could you help with the thread location please....
