You mean Thursday night better for you than the Friday night? I'll do a bit more route research over the weekend then stick an event up.

Anyone keen for a Thursday evening off week gravel potter? I'll be going straight from work via Richmond Park then nice bits of gravel/bridleway all the way out to the edge of the North Downs and getting the train back from West Byfleet after a beer.
Don't want to leave too late - it would probably be a 6pm departure from Westminster at the latest. 32mm minimum i'd say. Wider would be betterer.

I'll leave that up to you as I'm in France this week.

Oho, now we’re talking - I’d be down for that.

Got your new bike up and running?

Close, but no cigar.
Still need to rebleed the brakes, install BB and new bars, and then set up the gearing. Another couple of weeks and I should be there I reckon. Put the wheels on last night with the saddle and it looks pretty cool.

Sounds interesting!

Right, here's a route. I've done much of it before, some will be a voyage of discovery. Being late May, I hope not too much is neck high with nettles and brambles - the joys of English bridleways in spring.
The loop to the south is optional - we'll see how we're feeling.

Right - @seager @upstart you still up for this? Anyone else tempted?
If so, how do you want to rendezvous? I'll likely be hopping on my bike between 5:30 and 6 from Westminster and will be at the top of Putney Hill/Tibbets Corner roundabout at around 6 to 6:30 for the start of less paved bits. Can firm up timings depending on if anyone else is joining me!

I'm keen, but will need to confirm this afternoon. Can meet anywhere along the route really.

Great! I should mention as an additional plug, this ride offers the opportunity to:
- experience the best parallel descent of the A3 hill
- be slightly naughty in a wood owned by the Queen
- see the best preserved Semaphore Tower in the country
- ride down a world war 2 runway at least once, maybe twice.
- have a beer by the river
The negatives are that I'm leading you and I managed to both fall off my bike this morning and whack my head into a branch, so you take your chances.
- experience the best parallel descent of the A3 hill

Excellent - It's a go for me.
Probably best to meet at Tibbets. I'll aim to be there soon after 6, so might bump into you along the way there anyhow. I'm wearing my most ridiculous top (watermelons), which along with big lime green CaadX should make me an easy spot!

Also, your horizons are straighter than mine!
@ᛠᛙᚺᚣ✻ᛕᛙᚺᛥ is needed here. :)

..oof, hard to look at those.
Camera technique is fine though I think, but driver should be doing wheelies while shooting to straighten the horizon. -

That is one sweet bike @Scrabble
Thanks! It's my new favourite!
Also hoping for more off-week gravel fun. The tricky thing is - bridleways in the dark hold limited appeal - even with lights - so the window of post work ride opportunities is short and leaving early helps, thereby limiting attendance.
If people can get out of the office early on a Friday I have nice route that involves train to Guildford (at around 4:30) and then heads back through the downs and can again end at West Byfleet (fav pub) or anywhere else north of the downs. Perhaps late June/early July?

If it's Muddy foxable I'm in for some Friday half day finish and gravel and beers.

That thing could tackle anything - question marks over the rider.

Ain't that always the way...

You take it easy on Ben now, I owe him my life. I have one of those blood debts with him, like that thing in John Wick 2 where because of his blood oath he had to go to Rome(?) and kill someone in a underground grotto.
this maybe be more feasible for me too
