Swivel leaver so it's level, undo bleed screw on lever, push pistons back a bit, watch for any fluid coming out (hopefully a drop or two), do bleed screw back up, say a little prayer and put the pads wheel back in....

Replaced my leaking caliper.
Had about a week of top quality braking. Now back to to howling but no stopping. So I guess my leaking caliper wasn't a leaking caliper and I've got an issue somewhere else instead. That was money well spent.

I've got some Shimano R805 callipers, and want to pick up a bleed kit from Amazon but there are so many different types.
Would this one work? - and should I buy more fluid?

Ah man! I'm in a similar boat with my rear calliper. It just doesn't have the stopping power of the front, or that it used to. I'd suspected a leaky caliper but not got round to doing anything with it yet.
What's your next port of call to try to resolve the issue?

Fuck knows. Change the cables I guess, see if the issue is further up the chain. If that doesn’t work then DBAD.

What are the best brake pads to replace the ones on my Ultegra R8070 hydro disk brakes? Riding on road but in wet conditions. I'm finding that there are lot of options out there.

Cheers, so not metal pads? Ideally they will last the whole of the TAW race so 2500km, based on strava, the current ones have done about 2200km and need changing. Is that normal wear?

the whole of the TAW race
Braking slows you down

So will the wind and rain.
-
• #5763
Yeah but you don’t control those. And they don’t wear out brake pads.
Ok maybe rain won’t help but you know what I’m saying -

Those are metal pads. Metal compound resin construction.

Great, thanks. Ordered.

I've noticed Shimano have started selling L03A pads now to replace the L02A pads. Any actual difference between the two?
-
• #5769
Already bought them!

The number relates to the pad material, first letter is style/shape and last letter is backing material. Shimano claim better wear but I've not tried personally.
-
• #5771
Dude that’s not metal pads, metal as in sintered, which is much better for races like TAW.
Resin wear out quickly in such environments.

Yes, well done, I replied immediately hoping to catch him from doing an Amey.

Aww... Staph it... ;)
Thanks all. Will investigate piston movement....
