Oof, bad luck. I sold mine last year out of worry of this eventuality. Was it a warranty replacement or more of a faff?

He just cycles a lot :-) A LOT
The cracking Wolverines are a wellknown thing. a manufacturing flaw it seems Maybe you are lucky.

I guess that depends on how you look at it. If I got a warranty replacement, I could sell on for a better price. Been considering swapping the whole thing for a proper dual sus XC rig lately ...

If I was Eamsy I'd be tempted to sell it on and get something without known manufacturing flaws (unless of course they've fixed it on this batch).

They changed the whole back end a few years back, iirc their 'v3'. earlier (and very common) models lacked the extra (rather ugly) bracing they added in to add stiffness around the dropouts.

Whole rear end has been changed. Previous one had air holes on the thinnest part of the stays that eventually cracked under stress.
I got the black one on warranty replacement.
Haha, I do ride a lot but had clocked less than 3,000 miles on that frame so not really that much!

Nice. Looking to get a nice fork in 40mm rake for my lemond, and hoping to match the 28mm clearance in the back, and I think apart from enve, Reynolds, moots it seven, alpha q are the few that do/did one.

Lol, didn't realise that there are so many variations. Mine look like these just after a year of daily. A bit disappointing.
Where did you get yours? The Strong X might hold up longer because of no notches I believe

It happens to all the early version, it's a known flaw
Edit - see eamseys post -
• #123312
I just set up a saved search for alpha q on eBay, it's what I do more anything I'd like but I'm not in a desperate rush for. Just got a black Hope headset for the lemond for £30 using that method

Yeah, it might be a tad too much actually.
Is that the cnc-bike.de gravel frame ?
Yep, it's a tank but solid and you can throw anything at it and it will power through it.

Yeah, I did lower it somewhat but almost immediately raised it again because of too much pressure on the wrists and palms.
-
• #123321
Yep, in my experience the higher the bars are in relation to the seat the more likely the seat will pointing up a little. Certainly the case with Brooks.

New frame arrived, did a small mock up.

Downtube looks dented ;)
What kind of action? I'm riding my wolverine pretty hard, lots of single track etc. Have the sliders a the way to the front pretty much, using 650b and 2.1.
