Where did you find that picture of me?

I have some XT cranks (104 bcd) and trying to run a 1x setup with 10 spd RD ...

Do I need to worry if a chainring is for inner/outer ring?
Will a 9 spd chainring work with 10 spd chain? (yes/I think but the wiggle q&a has thrown me off)
Do I need to worry about width of ring?
What do I buy? I want 42-44t?

If it’s not a narrow wide chain ring you may drop your chain so you’ll need a chain guide up front to help generally keep the chain on especially on the rough stuff.

Internal width of 9-10-11 speed chains should all be 3/32nds so should work. It’s the outside width that changes to allow more sprockets on the rear

42 or 44 depends on so many variables - tyre size, terrain, style of riding. If you have a low cadence and like grinding a big gear go for the bigger ring, if you like spinning go for the little one. There won’t be a huge difference anyway

I’m 6’3 with a 31” inside leg so my bikes often look disproportionate too

Practice holds up even better - most 6/7/8-speed chainrings are actually thin enough to run 9/10/11-speed chain.

Anyone London based have 2x spare Shimano SM-BH90 Flange Connecting Bolts?? For Shimano di2 hydro shifters.

Turns out I only have non-flanged and was a little hasty having already stripped the cockpit to build with new shifters.

However, I literally got them for free, so I have nothing invested in them and even though I don’t believe in collecting stuff. I think I’ll forever keep these in my collection ;)

Looks super fun. How do the Strong V grips hold up? Because mine don't hold up a year

eBay, they were local to my girlfriend's parents in Yorkshire so I had to wait a while to get them, but worth it. I love alpha Q stuff, they're 400g with an uncut steerer.

Thanks! Those are the Strong X grips, the mirror mold of the Strong V's. It's been a year and I can see some wear but I'm not dailying this bike so it's not a concern.

My orange Soma Wolverine suffered the infamous crack at the chain stay, so I got a black Wolverine to replace it. Upgraded the groupset while I was at it and went full rando cunt with silver VO guards.

Was there an action that caused the crack or did it just happen?

Momentary awful paint job gone, I'll be restoring the paint back to new.

Following @Eamesy on IG I would say quite a lot action caused that :-)
