Whilst in Moscow, we stayed, of course, at the Intourist hotel.
Was that a great big block right on Red Square with views over St Basil's from one of the dining rooms? I stayed there on a college trip in the mid-nineties. I remember the view, a pervading smell of boiled cabbage, and hookers in the foyer.

We used to play hooky and go to the Mockba and the Rossya for dinner, courtesy of a few boxes of Marlboro Reds.
