  • whats the deal with a lot of users nowadays buying items off here for cheap and then selling them for profit?

It's called arbitrage. If I can't be arsed to put in the time and effort to achieve the best possible price for something I'm selling, it would be churlish to deny whoever buys it their reward if they do then put in the effort.

  • Ordinarily. But I often sell things on here for a lot less than they’re worth because I’ve bought things on here for very cheap before and I like to pass on the kindness. I’ve seen a load of people then passing on the bargain when they’ve had their use. I think it’s just courtesy in our community. I’ve bought cheap on eBay and sold for profit but never on here. I’d like to think of most others doing the same

What's the difference, in terms of your eternal reward, between the beneficiary of your charity having parts for cheap and his having no parts but a cash reward for doing a some work?

I've seen "spirit of the forum" invoked in this question before. Don't forget that the spirit of the forum is for the owner to parlay the good will of LFGSSers into getting them to pay for his attempt to become the next dot-com billionaire 🙂
