@PhilDAS cheers! Glad you're liking the build so far. You were quite right about the less is more upgrade approach, only bought a new fork but made a world of difference to the fun I had at Beckenham Place park this evening.
@MisterMikkel Sora kit is excellent, my mum has it on her road bike and the ergonomics and shifting are great.
Spoke to a colleague of mine today (also a bike mechanic) and he suggested maybe hanging on for the tiagra tier GRX stuff to come in at work and maybe try it out which is what I think I'll do.
For the time being, going to get together seatpost, stem and bars hopefully over the next week or two. But for now, really stoked on the new fork, works and looks a treat and no problems yet despite encountering multiple heavy impacts with tree roots, as well as an abundance of speed bump hopping.
