Did a fun ride with @Hulsroy yesterday, I've been wanting to visit Tilbury Fort and Coalhouse Fort for a while so I planned a route that took us past and ended up with fish and chips.
Start of the ride was horrible thanks to the shit hole that is the getting out east London, but rewarded came soon enough.
Turned out to be a good test for the bike now I've reworked it. Fast ,thanks to a massive tale wind the whole way, and very comfortable, I just wish I had a proper length HT. G-One All round 35c and mudguards probed to be very capable on the all important gravel. Tubeless tyres also worked well thanks to a patch of very sharp mussel shells and a over enthusiastic dog.
Oh, and we had some unexpected good news, turns out we're gay!
Neither of us knew, but a very kind young man past by very close to us in his Focus RST to let us know in a loud and clear voice. Nice of him to take time out of his, no doubt busy day, to spread the joyful news. Anyway, its come as surprise to us and our partners (especially the pregnant one) and it certainly wasn't what I expected my friend to join me for an 'Outing in Tilbury', but the good people of Essex seemed keen to keep up with the worlds move towards ending intolerance and bigotry, which we'll all be pleased to know.
