In a rational world, the first thing that any new PM should do is ask the EU to allow us to revoke "for now" with a view to reinvoke at a later date once we decide what we want.

hmm I think if there was anything LIKE that amount of room for manoeuvre (or... fuckit I dunno, sanity) in the Tory party, it would probably have happened already.
We’re just moving to a different phase of the Conservative implosion, I think? It’s going to get a lot more swivel-eyed from here.

I don't think the EU would have accepted it. But with a new leader and therefore a, hopefully, new approach, there is a better case for it.
