You know Nespresso does the cleaning bit for you? In Switzerland they provide the bag, pick them up from your house and recycle them.

Again, even when you make it as easy as possible, what percentage of the user base do you think even knows or bothers with it? Not that excuses the energy and carbon costs of initial production, recycling, packaging, distribution and collection.
Cunning way for Nespresso to not alienate most of its more eco-friendly consumers tho

Fair enough. But I can't see anyone lazy enough to use a nespresso machine cleaning out their spent capsules and recycling them.
