Very nice, but likely very pricey

Colon capsules?
Suppose it was only time until Rapha entered the ‘Crapsule’ market.

Mate its 23rd may not 1st April.

Fair enough. But I can't see anyone lazy enough to use a nespresso machine cleaning out their spent capsules and recycling them.
And it's still wank
-
• #33135
We don't use our nespresso machine too often (it was a gift) but we buy compostable pods which are very nice but pricey.
They go in the composter in the garden afterwards. -
• #33136
Yeah I'm down with compostables (mostly).
Though you have to be careful because a lot of compostable stuff won't break down properly in a garden bin.
-
• #33137
You know Nespresso does the cleaning bit for you? In Switzerland they provide the bag, pick them up from your house and recycle them.
-
• #33138
I thought George Clooney uses them to build satellites to monitor war crimes?

i think it's one of the major fails of modern life.

Again, even when you make it as easy as possible, what percentage of the user base do you think even knows or bothers with it? Not that excuses the energy and carbon costs of initial production, recycling, packaging, distribution and collection.
Cunning way for Nespresso to not alienate most of its more eco-friendly consumers tho

That's definitely not a unique insight.

In London as well

You can apply all those things to coffee in general. The foil lined bags with a valve are impossible to recycle and Nespresso capsules use about half the coffee of a Mokka so the energy cost of growing and roasting etc is much lower.
I'd say a pretty high percentage of users in Switzerland know about it because the recycling is free, whereas waste is taxed quite heavily. -

Nice but not mycelium-hosting.
-
• #33147
Do you need mycelium? I mean, fungals break down cellulose. But, what's needed here is a bacterium capable of breaking down plastics.
WAHT CUD GO RONG? -

I was hoping the colon coffee pods would contain civet coffee, the product of unsustainable poo farming

Switzerland, land of dreams
Ridiculous ...
