Indeed.
Police traffic team number I was given can't help. They're civvies who get completed cases from police. Said to wait three weeks and call back if no news.
I've emailed Hackney Council about their cctv although they say they'll only hand it over to insurers and solicitors, tfl about any bus-based cctv. The mcdonalds on the corner is plastered in cameras but they will only give cctv to police and can't tell us how long they keep their cctv for... Going to check other shops and so forth for cctv tomorrow.
My girlfriend had a collision with a van on Kingsland Road this morning at about 06:35. She was heading south and the van was heading north and turned right across stationary traffic into Abbot Street (just north of the junction by Dalston Junction station).
The driver stopped, took her details but didn't provide his. Suggested that she 'came out of nowhere' and was going too fast. Strava suggests she was doing about 15mph... The driver and a witness helped her into McDonalds and then left. Police attended but she ended up getting a train to Homerton for x-rays etc herself. Chipped a bone in her toe but is luckily otherwise ok, it seems.
She didn't get given a case reference at the time and didn't initially realise she was injured or that the bike was knackered, but both are the case (Bob Jackson vigorelli with a bent/bulged downtube and bent forks).
I've called the police and have got a case reference, I'm going to call back shortly and confirm that they've requested the CCTV be saved, as they were apparently talking to the CCTV operator when they arrived and it is captured on CCTV and 'looked nasty'.
Anyone on the forum happen to be passing that way at the time? She didn't end up getting any contact details from witness or driver as was in shock at the time.
Anything else we need to do now? I've had a look at the what to do thread and will be calling a solicitor. Is O Jeffcott still the go-to person?
Cheers
