How strange! Here it is on the Australian IKEA site, happy to retail assist if you can't find one out there...

That’s cool, managed to randomly find a Zwilling Chinese cleaver with sharpener for £20 at TK Maxx, which I think is a super deal.
Not sure what what edge angle they are sharpened to, but seems pretty sharp for the moment.
Am I right in saying that most German knives are sharpened to 20 degrees each side?

That's an amazing deal!! I miss UK TK Maxx, not quite up to speed over here but slowly getting there...

When on holiday, and the Air B&B knives are bent and shocking, buy a emergency Santoku for.... 3 euros....

Do you reckon it's real? Seems a bit Unlikely that somebody is faking twenty Euro knives...
They do a santoku, but with a handle like this one

China fakes the Casio F91W... Not a problem...

For three euros who gives a toss, as long as it stays sharp for the holiday.

I bought six global knives recently, three of them were fakes.
Top tip: if you have a global knife from the standard sand filled handle range and the handle is magnetic, its a fake.
Sellers were happy for me to return for a refund thankfully.

Given the dodgy blister pack it came in, and the shopkeeper took it down from between his wall covered in BB guns and Disney inspired swimming floats, pretty sure it’s fake.
I normally pack my Aeropress and Lanksy sharpening tool when going on holiday, so the knife is sufficiently sharp for cutting onions and slicing chorizo duties.

Hi knife fans.
I need a dedicated small knife for gardening jobs, propegating, cuttings, removing burrs on plastic pots I'm making/ upcycling.
Would something like the stainless opinel be good for this?
-
• #2343
It would work fine, I'd be tempted to get something a bit tougher but that's just me... Opinels are great...
-
• #2344
I use an opinel in the garden a fair but and would agree that something sturdier might be better as ^. It works fine but if cutting something that requires a bit of force I'm always a bit concerned about the locking mechanism not holding and the blade folding in.

If it's only for the garden consider a chisel knife. I have one in the shed and it's very good at general garden tasks. Bit more heft to it.

I have one too, great tool.
I am surprised that everyone posts amazon links though, don't you have any shame?

I have one of those chisel knifes. It's probably my most used DIY knife.
Couldn’t find it at IKEA in store or online, guessing it’s discontinued?
