The ceramic version is less effective but you might be fine with it taking a little more time. Otherwise lots of PPE and careful with the dust and you can use a tungsten scraper blade quite effectively. If you have small children or pets around you need to be extra careful with the dust even with an ir stripper.
One or 2 people on this thread have followed the advice and bought one for slightly larger jobs, no one has been disappointed. I get that it's expensive for just one window though.
