Mike Wilhelm died yesterday after a long battle with cancer, one of the first hippy kids in SF... Played beautifully in The Charlatans (the real ones, not those baggy cunts), Loose Gravel and the Flamin' Groovies as well as lots of solo stuff, a true legend... RIP...

Latin for goodbye. Used to be not uncommon here for obits. Maybe it's another of those traditions the Ozzies held onto after we stopped.

Except in Bob Hawke’s case it’s because he was a lifelong Port Vale fan, a regular at Vale Park.

So a pun on the usual habit? Because the Oz papers do use Vale a lot in obits, Port Vale fans or not.
