• Also did you buy the charger from Apple directly? If so I’d bring it back and ask for a replacement. 13 months is just outside the wannarty window and I am sure they’d sort you out. Last thing they want is another one of their products blow up.

  • Thanks for your offer - I've actually just got back from the genius barf with a new, free adapter.

    However, I also have my old one which just needed a new fuse.

    So as well as two chargers I also have a red face to match my gammony indignancy that won me a free replacement in the first place.
