On the bike today so no Speedmaster. Samurai feels like a tank in comparison, but reassuring.

SRPB99. The dial texture is nice on those.

Definitely interested. Thanks dude.

Yep, what regal said srpb99. And the dial is great. Honestly, for the $349 au I paid it's an amazing watch. I normally have it on a rubber dive strap but the bracelet it came with is really solid too.

was wearing mine last night, got a random comment "nice watch" in the brewery.
it's unbelievable value for the price, and feels indestructible

They are nice. I occasionally start looking at the original titanium ones, SBDA001. Not that I need another Seiko diver.

OK that bezel font has to be default Microsoft Word. #fontpolice 😎

^ he’s got a point

Haha, Seiko usually aren’t bad with their bezel numerals, either Eurostile or Univers or the traditional hand drawn style on the turtles. I think this is Univers but they’ve distorted it, which is why it looks a bit crap and digital. It’s not Arial but it’s not their finest hour either.
The typography crime on that watch is the three different fonts for AUTOMATIC / TITANIUM / SCUBA.

That Apollo 11 50th anniversary Speedy is... actually nice. Lovely dial colour and bracelet. Take all the cheesy commemorative stuff off and it’d be a home run.

21mm lug to lug. Rubber strap. Squash a 22 or 20 and a gap?
-
• #35189
Buying a 21mm not an option? Hirsch do a fair few in 21...
EDIT: At least they did, that section of their web site is empty now. Lame.

Most watchmakers will have a strap cutter tool. Even older branches of Timpsons have them.
You can get the 0.5mm cut from both sides with varying degrees of aesthetic success.
I have previously wedged 20mm strap on 19mm lugs. I’d say buy big and hope.

tough finding something I like - particularly with rubber. much easier in 'regular' sizes.

It's fucking lovely is what it is.
I believe we ordered 5 at Zurich in March , how many we get is another matter. I have just asked to reserve one for myself so fingers crossed .
Oh and they have said delivery from July, but I bet that means November. -

What’s the UK price?

I've had success with a 22 and a razor blade to trim a little of the excess.
Be careful if you don't have drilled lugs, cram a larger strap in and getting a tool in to the pins can be a real ballache.

Tidy!
Oh and if you fancy one on a leather deployant we have a “lightly used” but technically brand new ( ie full 5yr warranty) one that has been worn as a staff wear at events a couple of times that’s 20% off list. Will send pics of you like.
