yep that sounds right, based on what I've read but doesn't make working out an alternative fork very easy...

Measure the headtube to make sure?
Then just buy a crown reducer thing. Get the right angle for the bearings. It'll cost £2 or so.

1 1/2 fork, but with an integrated bottom cup & external top cup rather than the full internal of the Arkose?
44-34mm Tapered Steerer vs 52-42mm on the arkose.
