1 1/2 fork, but with an integrated bottom cup & external top cup rather than the full internal of the Arkose?
44-34mm Tapered Steerer vs 52-42mm on the arkose.
Maybe.

yep that sounds right, based on what I've read but doesn't make working out an alternative fork very easy...
-
• #854
It’s a 44mm lower so ZS44 lower for 1-1/8” and EC44 for 1-1/2”. Looks like you have the ZS44 lower already installed.
If you want a flush fit with a 1-1/8” steerer you’re going to have to use a fork with a wider ~47mm crown (like the original Genesis one)

well that's that then. The Straggler fork will have to wait...and thanks all for the advice!

It’ll work, no? You’ll just have to live with the step/looks. #herecomesthehotstepper

Measure the headtube to make sure?
Then just buy a crown reducer thing. Get the right angle for the bearings. It'll cost £2 or so.
-
• #858
Trust me, it's a 44mm ID lower. No reducer required

He means so that you don't need to swap out the lower bearing

I don't think you'd need to - Genesis specs the bike with a 1-1/8" fork and a ZS44 lower headset. The only difference being the Genesis fork has a wider (integrated) OD 47mm crown for a flush-fit with the ZS44 lower cup. Surly fork crown will be narrower (non-integrated) with the crown OD being narrower than the crown race - hence the visual step. AFAIK everything will work fine (bar the looks/step)

This is all we were missing but thanks for the explanation

Just get rid of the gravelkings, they suck glass. Tubeless helps

Genesis did a run of carbon CdF forks, anyone got one they want to shift?

Has anyone got/had a equilibrium 725 (caliper or disc) and care to comment on the ride?
-
• #865
I have a 2016 equilibrium disc and never had any problems with the ride. mostly on 28mm tyres, although it can fit up to 32s without guards.
coincidentally I'm also thinking of selling the frameset ;)

Really like mine. Made even better - plusher and more lively by adding 650b wheel set. Any particular queries?

plusher and more lively by adding 650b
this is true
-
• #870
I wasn’t looking for offers of random frame sizes, was looking for feedback on the ride.
Dull @umop3pisdn
Like that ^
General consensus?
Although I’m considering Large / 58 rim brake model.
If you can significantly beat £275 for a new one then hit me up.

I have a 2015 Equilibrium disc and it's great, I run 32mm GK's with guards in the winter.. great for the road wth 25mm tyres and handy enough on light trails with the 32mm GK's..

I've been really happy with my 2015 725 rim brake one. Sure it's not the lightest or liveliest of bike but for winter/audax/touring type rides it's a great bike

Feels like a tank!
Pretty sure they're 1 1/2" but I don't have one so can't say 100
