You can walk into many business-targeted suppliers and see a catalogue or price list showing only-ex vat prices, but many LFGSSers will use such vendors to buy bolts, bearings etc. At the checkout, they'll look confused when you don't have an account with them, then print you an invoice with a VAT column and an inc-VAT total.
I mean when they're advertising things like single wheels and the like which non-business customers would definitely be interested in, and you can easily bid for them online as an average person, and it would be super easy to 'cater' to those people, I don't see that as a particularly good excuse tbh. We're not talking about an auction of job lots of hundreds of items that clearly mainly attract business buyers.
