Lovely wheels. Rest is not bad either. Doing a lot of stuff right.

Not exactly, but comes in red. And my backpack and rando bag are great.

Arkose SS (the off-white one with blue and grey splats):
What pin spanner do I need for the EBB?

You mean for spinning it? I always got some big tool in any of the holes and tapped it with a mallet. Apply grease on the BB shell from time to time
-

Yes.
Bought it second-hand recently so still wary of wielding hammers near it. Got a creak that I haven't solved yet which might mean I need to strip the whole bottom end down for a deep clean.

It might be a good idea to strip, clean and grease the whole thing. Always worked well enough the time I had it.

Possibly custom made by Strawfoot, just guessing, what with their name being on the top tube and them making bags.

To clarify, if you mean to use a pin spanner to rotate the BB in order to tension the chain, then I would not bother.
You can basically slide in a long Allen keys, turn the crank and use the crank arm to rotate the EBB.

Bit of a bodge, those park pin spanners are only about £8 each.

I sold my Specialized AWOL because it was showing too much seat post

It also felt a bit sluggish to be honest.

Did you try different tyres?
-
• #8046
Seconded.
I can't remember what they use to bind the EBB insert, but if it's a split shell then I suggest shoving some grease inside the bolt heads (if they face forward). Avoids them getting packed with mud! -

Tried two different ones. I think it was more due to the geometry because my charge plug 5 (The Tange Prestige one back when they made steel bikes) that I was riding before and now again has a shorter wheelbase and a steeper head tube angle. It feels more racey and responsive. I love it. Didn't loved the AWOL so it had to go.

It’s an AWOL! Not your mum’s Allez,
You literally brought a touring bike and got surprised when it rode like one.

I wasn't surprised. I read about the geometry and the apparent benefits of it. Thought it was good thing. Turned out I didn't like it. So I sold it. It's as easy as that.
