You've got a dark sense of humor Swiss

Sorry I just couldn't resist... how the hell did that image make it into the preview folder at PlanetX?
And that's before we get to the specifics of the extremely... uh... unfortunate implication of advertising a 'bike carrier' with a picture of a black guy.

They do it deliberately, always have done. They used to have a picture of a turnip for multiple items.

.

• #3283
I feel like a turnip would have been the safer choice here too.

I think they just like Barry White generally, eg https://www.planetx.co.uk/c/q/bikes/barry-white-limited-edition-bikes
-
• #3285
Seems like it!
The very best - it's why we've called it "Barry White"

Didn't someone on here use one with some kind of gearbox crank? Possibly @Smallfurry

Sainsbury's on Leyton High Road are selling beer with damages packaging cheap.
I think I got the most bargainous bargain, quite a few others left.
Not worth the trip if you're not local though

FFS, right after I splash out on an Alfine 8.
Though to be fair, those Nuvinci weight the same as a small moon I think.
-
• #3289
Yep. 1kg heavier than an Alfine.
They're also 36h. So rim selection (in 29er at least) is slim. Just trying to talk myself out of getting one.
-
• #3290
Also not too sure how reliable they are?
I could have gone Alfine 11 but decided on the 8 for greater reliability.

Over the Easter bank holiday I picked up one of those 5litre mini kegs of wainwright’s golden ale for £6.40. Tenner off!
-
• #3292
Could you build it into a Brompton wheel? @maynardeames
-
• #3293
Oln width would be an issue wouldn’t it? Nuvinci hub will be 135mm, Brommie back end is 112mm or something innit?
-
• #3294
Yeah use a cr18 rim!
-
• #3295
Heavy and somehow less efficient than Alfine 8 IIRC.

It's all about inertia

Pulled the trigger on this...see how it goes..massive saving.
Decent reviews, light weight let's hope my rear likes it.
There are other decent discounts too at Merlin. -

Got one of those Aldi bike workstands upthread... seems decent. Sure does beat having a horrible back ache after building a bike.

Someone tall should buy this cc/ @spotter @Hulsroy

Sure. However, I'm thinking about this from the perspective of riding 51/18 fixed, so... 360% range is many many percent more than that :D
