Top work!

Yeah mine was from a locked fifth floor balcony at night. They could only have gotten in from the open balcony on the floor above, then lowered the bikes down. Mad skills!
I found the shitty beater bike on gumtree shortly after and forced the police to take it back by threatening to visit the guy myself with a bunch of friends. Never got my TI Raleigh Team back, but insurance paid out enough to soften the blow.

Got confirmation that the CCTV camera outside my house is out of action and they’re not sure how long it’s been like that...

Recovered a Geoff Butler frame last week dumped in Hackney looks like someone helped themselves to the components and ditched the frame with the crank and chain remaining, if it’s yours please get in touch cheers k

Ah, great. They should be able to detect them going out of action, shouldn't they? Well, at least Hackney has this CCTV centre, no idea if Waltham Forest has one, too. Fingers crossed that some other pathway emerges.

Her nephew's. It's the second Giant he's had stolen, the poor kid. This one was lifted from his backyard.

Ah, what a shame. It's always bad when it's a kid, and having two bikes stolen ... it does make you wonder if it might even be the same thieves. I hope he gets it back (fat chance, I know) and finds a safer place to keep it, although I imagine he may not be able to keep it in the house. Most bike thefts are from places like sheds or gardens.

I've told them they need to get some ground anchors in concrete and d-locks but obviously all this is money and it's never nice worrying about stuff in your own yard.

Stolen today from outside primary school on Foxham Rd, N19. Had a red Ortleib pannier attached (I know, I’m an idiot) 58cm Genesis - battered white paint, and reflective stickers over the branding, XT Dynamo, Alfine 8sp, PDW mudguards, TRP hylix disc, rear rack

Talk about adding insult to injury ... sorry to hear about your loss.

Any chance Santander bikes might have a record of who hired the bike, and they maybe had it hijacked...?
-
• #14392
Data protection says no. The police could request it, but doubt it’ll be investigated
-
• #14393
That's a shame, obstacles in the way of potentially figuring out misfortune :(
-
• #14394
It's very unlikely the hire bike was taken legitimately, anyway.
