I suggest you research mk2 mx5 rs for particular details of this version - quite a few differences over the standard/uk model.
I bought it has a fresh import 10 years ago and run it as a summer car since. You can do online check on s131 kba for yearly mileage (bit strange as it arrived with mileage in km and I’ve converted speedo to mph) Only selling as I needed something I could fit more than one child in (mini clubman s)
Every year I’ve serviced it with Mobil one fully synthetic. I’ve changed wheels/tyres, new roof, catalytic converters and rear silencer. Stereo is crap (Bose) -

Don’t think I’ve ever seen an mx5 of that age with so little rust

Any idea what decibellage the exhaust scores at a track noise test?

Count me in!
Sounds like an LFGSS track day is nigh-on inevitable now.
I have been working on my '5 this weekend. It is super solid for an early Mk1 but had an advisory for some general surface rust last time it was MOT'd so have been busy cleaning and painting the boot floor and inner arches, cleaning behind the liners etc.
It has also recently had new discs and pads all round, coolant flush, new rad hoses, fuel hoses and throttle cable for the ITBs. Stickers added by the previous owner are now gone too. Should be good to go for the summer now.
Still not sure about the wheels. Tempted to refurb the original 14" 'daisies' in gold but there is a much better choice of tyres for 15s. Could also paint the current wheels - any suggestions?

never been tracked but it sounds no louder than the original exhaust, just a bit more throaty. I think it was this one (I bought it a few years ago)

Stuff for MX5's is cheap, stick that on a 911 and it'd be a grand.

That Speedster with the silver paint/tan interior package looks pleasing

Love your car Jambon. Ideally, I'd like to make mine as clean with very similar mods.
As an aside, does/did yours have the headrest speakers and if so do they still work? -

Absolutely lovely. Whats the spec?

Car buying advice:
What's a fun practical car that's not a Subaru Forester (eg: estate or large hatchback so I can put a couple of bikes in there). 2005 or newer - £3.5k give or take?

Focus ST?
I did have a look at the Focus, but it does seem a bit small maybe? That and the A3 were contenders.
I'm going to look at a Forester tomorrow instead so....

Cheers. It had the holes but no speakers, strange as it was a JDM version which to my knowledge should have had them from stock. Someone probably removed them was my guess.

Be really sure the engine is sound. Lots of history of frequent oil changes.

Thanks. Will do. I blame this thread entirely (and your Forester) for getting me into them.

I miss that car but getting rid has done my bank balance and waist line the power of good.

Do you know if it has exploded for the new owner yet?
In other news I just had to get a new cam and associated bits for the MG
Sorry- forgot to say, Mini looks awesome.
