Any recommendations for a crystal change & pressure test in London. Without having to send it off to King’s Hill.

Nomos makes a reasonable sized watch finally.....

I was under the impression the sarb 033 had been discontinued.
Yet this guy is still selling them as new. What gives? Fakes? Second hand? Resumed production?

Also interested in the pressure test. I’ve steered away from vintage divers because I heard the seals perish and they can leak. Is it really possible to get them fully waterproof again?

Local TK Maxx had a Mondaine watch at half price, around £80. Looked very nice in the cabinet but way too Swiss to actually wear.

I didnt look at the listing but probably none of the above. Just because they're discontinued doesn't mean new stock doesn't exist anymore.

Now that is a patina! Is it me or is the minute hand bent? 🤔

Looks nice but how big is it actually? The lugs make the watch head longer than the entire wrist width in that pic...
Inchpincher and I looked at some Nomos a while back, I wasn’t massively impressed and in particular I wasn’t keen on the way they sat on the wrist.
Edit: or did you mean you like it because it’s bigger?

Seikos seem to take a long time to sell through. Quite possible that it’s legit but can’t vouch for the seller. The usual import dealers are all out of them.

Who replaced the handset?? T_T

Yes the minute hand is bent. Lume is also cracked in the hour hand.
I bought it from the original owner who had it serviced in Oslo in the mid eighties. Whoever serviced it also managed to mess up the caseback.
Most of the black dialed 7021's suffer from scabby dials due to a defect with the paint used. it doesn't bother me tbh.
Should probably just opt for a full movement service and get the hand straightened when doing the crystal.

42mm for this, their sports watch

Makes sense.
Thanks.Edit JB makes a similar point. Ta.

unless it really bothers you I wouldn't mess with the hands. Straightening the minute hand will probably cause the lume to fall out, then you'll have to relume both hands and it'll look weird, not to mention reducing its value. Why do you want to change the crystal?

Purely because the micro cracks all over it seem to be getting worse. Hard to see from most angles, but at certain angles in bright sunlight the whole crystal is covered in small radial cracks. One bad knock could see them all joining up and the whole crystal falling out.
i'll try to get a pic to show what i mean.
I've had the watch since 2009 and they do seem to be getting worse. The crystal is at least 35 years old if replaced at service or 50 yrs old if original, and brittle i imagine.

I'd try to find a correct handset that matches the patina of the dial

This is one of my grail watches and one of only two modern watches I’d consider buying (the other is Akrivia). Konstantin Chaykin is one of the industry’s innovators, I’m totally in love with his work <3 https://instagram.com/k_chaykin
Or maybe they're just horny? ðŸŒðŸ’¦
