Could the US sustain a war against Iran and Venezuela, at the same time as its existing wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria?
The prepositions you use contains the answer I think. War against would be too pricey, but war in would be doable. Set up a base and do a bit of shooting and bombing from time to time, never really fully defeating anyone. Good for morale.
