Nah is only Smootape, too much of a fiddle. Worth doing the infill round the clamps if using a decent tape, like Cinelli leather. Now I did take care with that.

Well, those I've had lying round. True though.
But comfort was the deciding factor, not weight. Also the price. ~650e for frame, fork, headset and seatpost is a steal

Sturmer archer do a fixed 3 speed hub but it has a lot of lash and isn't very efficiant.
