Don't know how much this is just HR paranoia, but AIUI you shouldn't ask for 'x years of experience', as this is an indirect proxy for age; you should be asking for skills-based competencies. Totally ok to ask for e.g. 'experience of working on Bromptons and of rebuilding MTB shocks'.
Interesting, yeah that was just relating to the salary level ie. depends on skills you bring to the job. Totally willing to take someone on who doesn't have loads of training/experience
