    just a good rule of thumb for road snacks

  • Scottish tablet or fudge etc is 400kcal/100g and easy for your body to use. I'd guess that a lot of the fats and therefore calories in nuts aren't immediately available.

    'real' food for me is a huge moral booster after eating rubbish. If you want something cold then oatcakes, cured meats and some cheeses sounds delicious to me and worth any weight penalty!

  • I also like Trail mixes. Then you can pick out the fruity bits or nutty bits as required. :)
