Definately steel! :)

Ciclos uno in Hainault have the tool to chit the chamfers for a 610. Quoted me £20 to do it. 610 bbs have a reputation of being fit and forget too, fwiw.
-
• #29
that 610 is a lovely piece of work... (but still needs threads?)
-
• #30
Nope, it’s self threading. Just needs the chamfer and some loctite. You can even adjust chainline a little on it.

Otherwise, Velo Orange also do (an expensive) one that I don't think needs a chamfer:

(Shame they stopped doing them in the anodised finish that looked like a Bullseye hub though)

Lush!
It’s even still got the nylon bushings.
(Can you tell I’m a fan of these?) -

Looks like cadence bike shop in bath can sort out the bb for me.
Here’s the frame with the ceramic wheels:

Rad frame, hopefully Will and Jonny can sort it for you.

Nice. I got a cheap-as XT/Xtreme 26” wheelset from Rose for my Dyna-tech. Currently, I’m going ‘Frankenbikepacker’ (got an uncut Thorn carbon fork dangling on it + flared drops), but ‘emergency commute fill-in’ is probably the inevitable end state...

I maybe wrong on this but the Ti Dyna-Tech I had, had aluminium lugs, steel stays and drop outs, and a Ti front triangle. And most importantly a headset with plastic cups.

Is it possible to have BB porn?
-
• #41
Similar mix of metals here. Lugged headtube is alu. I think... rear triangle definitely steel (my headset is newer than whatever the OG one was).
-
• #42
Haha, that's the only reason I bought it

Anyone got a black 26.8 post?
-
• #44
Is it definitely 26.8? I only ask because I’ve fitted an allegedly 27.2 aliexpress carbon into mine. The same post also fits a 27.0 seat tube on a 531 ST frame : /
(only have a 26.4 in the parts bin otherwise)
-
• #45
Likewise! Was great on the basso gap that used to be my town bike
-
• #46
I’ve tried a 27.0 and that won’t go in - 26.2 just slides. 26.8 I think is the sweet spot
-
• #47
Well okay.
Er. does this mean you have a 27.0 going spare? /vulture
-
• #48
I’ll keep hold of it ;)
It was a cheapo alloy off eBay that if I sell will the probably need in a week or two! -
• #49
a quick update...
I'm now thinking of selling this frame - please see the thread for the BB thread :) discussion.
I bought off the forum for £80 plus postage but am happy to move this on to someone who has a bit more time .
I can do the frame, a Blue threadless Hope headest (1 1/8th) (Installed onanother frame but never ridden)and postage for £100.
PM me if interested - @Mattyc has first refusal -

Undibs as I’ve got another project on the go! Cheers and GLWS!
Easy way for @johnnettles2 to tell would be to use a magnet. Ti is magnetic but only ever so slightly. There will be a marked difference between it and the steel tubes.
